Welcome...

...to the website of the Section for MR Imaging of the Institute of Medical Physics.

The Section for MR Imaging of the Institute of Medical Physics (IMP) at Friedrich-Alexander-University (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg startet its activities in education and research on October 1st, 2009 under its head Prof. Dr. Harald H. Quick (formerly at Erwin L. Hahn Institute for MRI and University Hospital Essen).

Thereby the spectrum of imaging modalities of the IMP Erlangen - which was mainly focused on x-ray based techniques like computed tomography (CT), micro-CT and flat-detector CT before - was extended to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Aim and motivation of the Section for MR Imaging is the development, use and teaching of new methods in the field of experimental and diagnostic MR imaging. In the context of the medical technology site Erlangen, we see ourselves as the central contact with expertise in MR imaging, mainly for our collaborators at the University Hospital Erlangen and the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg.

Further information about the current areas of research of the Section for MR Imaging can be found on the page projects.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us, if you are interested in our work or in magnetic resonance imaging in general.
